4 Ways to Create Engaging Content on Instagram
We all want to see numerous notifications right? In order to make this happen, we need to produce more engaging content. If we educate and inspire and build trust with our customers over time they will purchase from us.
THINK LIKE THE CUSTOMER
What are their pain points? What do they need help with? People like to read content that is helpful for THEM not helpful for YOU. This means they are looking for value and don’t nesseccarily want to be sold to.
One of the tricks that helps me.. is to think about what they need.
For example, if you run an interior design business, you could write a post on these topics:
how to choose the best paint color.
the best white paint.
tips to choosing decor accents.
how to arrange furniture.
best indoor house plants.
how to hang wall photos.
ADD A CALL TO ACTION
For instagrams algorithm, engagement is key. In order to show up in your followers feed, you need to prove your content is worthy. Don’t leave the customer hanging at the end of your post, invite them to take action.
If you are posting on Instagram try these call to actions:
Direct them to a link
Ask them to comment below
Suggest another resource
Ask to click link in bio
Invite them to double tap
Invite them to share
Invite them to tag someone
BE CONSISTENT
The major rule of instagram is consistency. Your customers want to develop a know, like and trust factor with you and how can they do that if they never know when or if they are going to hear from you?
Getting in the habit of posting on a consistent schedule will be helpful for both you and your customer.
An easy way to come up with more content is to recycle all the content you already have.
Take your facebook content and up-cycle it into instagram posts.
Use your email content and break it into facebook and Instagram posts.
Use your blog content and break that into facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Email content.
This may sound extremely overwhelming, BUT if you are looking to grow into a credible and value based business you need to get the ball rolling.
BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY
It is super easy to hop onto Instagram and mindlessly scroll, but what instagram is looking for is engagement. Take the time to comment back to a customer who comments on your post. Hop over to their feed and engage with their content. Search hashtags for content you may be interested in and they may be interested in you and start to build a relationship.
Gary V talks about his $1.80 strategy. He suggests leaving your $0.10 on 90 different peoples content every single day…this is a super helpful way to reach new people.
Best of luck on your journey!!
