How to Safely Use Essential Oils with Dogs and Cats

One of the favorite ways I have supported my dog, was to wrap a capsule with a drop of lemongrass in a piece of cheese to treat a UTI infection. It worked like magic after one day!
I also run my diffuser in the kitchen daily. I like to think the benefits the humans are gaining - is also beneficial to my cat and dog.
I am by no means an expert with animals and essential oils...the following recipes are what has worked in our home over the last 10 years.
TOP ESSENTIAL OILS FOR DOGS
Lavender - soothing for anxious dogs. Add one drop to a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil and rub on their spine, tips of ears and paws.
Copaiba - soothing for skin. Make a healthy fur spray with 10 drops copaiba, 10 drops lavender and 4 oz of water. Mist onto fur and massage in.
Frankincense - soothe irritated ears. Add one drop to a teaspoon of carrier oil and rub around outside of ears and down spine.
Lemongrass - support infection. I put one drop in a veggie capsule and wrapped it in a piece of cheese to support my dog with a urinary tract infection.
