Ways to Recycle Empty Essential Oil Bottles
Your empty doTERRA essential oil bottles are still full of so much goodness! It seems like such a shame just to toss them.
Let’s look at ways to recycle or up-cycle those empty bottles into a new DIY essential oil recipe and get all those last oily drips out.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR EMPTY ESSENTIAL OIL BOTTLES
Remove the caps, orifices + labels. If the labels don't peel off nicely, soak them for 10min in a bowl of hot water + 3 TBSP of baking soda + 1 drop of dish soap + 5 drops of lemon oil. Remove the labels and glue + let air dry.
TIP: Before cleaning, take the caps off and store in a jar of epsom salts overnight to get the last few drops out. Use the salts in your bath...
OR
Don’t clean them at all and just add the new ingredients right to the (mostly) empty bottle!

5 drops each lavender + frankincense + tea tree
AFTER SUN
10 drops lavender + 5 drops peppermint
BUG SPRAY
10 drops cedarwood + 10 drops citronella
AIR FRESHENER
20 drops of any blend you like!
FOCUS SPRAY
10 drops peppermint + orange
LINEN/PILLOW SPRAY
10 drops lavender + 5 drops orange + 5 drops cedarwood
HAND + SURFACE CLEANER
10 drops protective blend + 5 drops tea tree
1 tsp rubbing alcohol + fractionated coconut oil
THROAT SPRAY
10 drops protective blend + lemon
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
FACIAL MIST
10 drops frankincense + lavender/juniper berry
top with witch hazel or rose water
AFTER SHAVE
10 drops lavender + frankincense + cedarwood
1 tsp fractionated coconut oil
